I am/was someone who has tried it all. From Weight Watchers, to Phen/Phen, to plastic surgery.  All that stuff worked and I looked great, but only temporarily.  I was hungry on Weight Watchers, risked a heart/lung transplant on Phen/Phen, lost my “baby tummy” with plastic surgery, but gained it back in other places.

As much as we all would like a “quick fix” to our weight and body issues, there isn’t one.  If there was, I would have done it and have tried to do it.

Boot camp with Tyler was a little daunting at first. I had tried to lose weight so many times before and was already talking myself “down.”

Having said that, I loved the group training. The support, peer pressure, and team spirit kept my spirits up.  And it’s not just your group that is supportive, it’s the whole gym.  When you see the same people day after day, first thing in the morning, looking your worst, i.e. sweating your “bed head” straight, you tend to form some friendships.  That definitely helps.

I have worked with numerous trainers in the past, but none have done for me what Tyler English has done. He has changed my life.

It makes a difference having a trainer.  When it comes to showing up in the morning, you are responsible to someone else to be there. Tyler has “kicked my ass” but has been supportive while doing it. He is available for questions, concerns and sarcasm.

I have done three boot camps with Tyler.  It has been the push I needed to get on the right track to health and weight loss.  I am going to continue to train with Tyler and plan to do another boot camp in the future.

I have lost 45lbs. and I lost count of the inches, but have dropped 6 sizes in my clothes.  My goal is 80 lbs total.  I’m amazed every time I get closer to that goal; there have been some many failures in the past.  I didn’t gain it overnight, and I’m not going to lose it overnight, but, God, it feels good to have the “goal” in site! It’s a process and I’m not going back to my “old” ways.

The calendar stops for no one, you have a choice, do you want to be thinner/healthier in a few months, or do you want to look back in a few months wishing you were. I choose to be thinner.

Boot Camp not only gave me “jump start” on my weight loss, but a new start on the rest of my life.

“Boot Camp Has Changed My Life”

I have been a distance runner for years, worked out for years and basically have followed the same “at times” monotonous workout plan for a good portion of my adult life.  Perhaps not even completely aware of the benefits that boot camp with Tyler would bring me, I signed up.I can honestly say that Tyler’s boot camp has changed my life.

One of the biggest pitfalls for me in the past was proper nutrition.  I tried to follow a plan but wound up eating too little or not necessarily the right things (i.e. Twizzlers and Good & Plenty?).

I did not realize the profound effect that nutrition would play on any gains that I might make over the course of the next three weeks.  Following the nutritional guide that Tyler had given us, I realized the importance of eating the “right” foods and writing it all down.

My calorie intake had greatly increased which was a bit frightening; I was eating more food than I had ever eaten in my lifetime but, I was gaining lean muscle mass and losing weight. My energy level began to grow, I also felt better able to cope with my own personal struggles.

In completing a three week boot camp with Tyler I have finally realized the importance of the “complete” workout; cardio, resistance training, intervals, and most importantly, proper nutrition.

Following Tyler’s nutritional plan and cardio schedule has optimized my workouts and given me my life back, a better life, after an incredibly difficult period in my life.  I reached all of the goals that just three weeks prior seemed nearly impossible.

I intend on continuing boot camp with Tyler but I do feel I am now equipped to maintain the gains that I have made.  Change can be good.  The changes I have accomplished with boot camp are to me, truly amazing!

She Used To Spend 2 Hours In The Gym…

Before meeting Tyler, I worked out with a personal trainer for a couple of years.  Although I lost some pounds and gained muscle, it was nowhere near the training Tyler has introduced me to.  I was skeptical to not be using machines and counting reps, but I gave it a try.

What I learned is the importance of using your body weight for most exercises, and actually working more than 1 body part at a time.  I was used to long runs on a treadmill or other piece of cardio equipment, but I have also learned the less is more rule, anaerobic cardio.  I spend roughly 30 minutes alternating between sprints and walks.

The benefits to these exercises has meant not only less time in the gym, but more muscle and a few less pounds.  I work harder in a shorter amount of time, and have greater benefits.  Again I was used to spending upwards of 2 hours in the gym.

Working out with such a knowledgeable trainer is awesome.  He truly loves what he does.  Every single workout is different, so it never gets boring.  Tyler also has a No Excuses policy that is extra motivating.  I look forward to every week’s session, knowing it will be super hard, but super satisfying.  He will always give you your money’s worth, as well as added nutritional, and psychological support mixed with humor.

Many of the workouts I have (that he even writes down in my log) can easily be done at home.  I never knew I could get just as much done at home as well as the gym.  So there really are no excuses.

Now in my mid 30’s I’m the strongest I have ever been.  He even sends out emails with more great info and some new workouts.  I feel he really is supportive and connected.

Tyler’s motivation and passion for being a trainer is what helps me to know that having him as my trainer is the only way to go.  He is very knowledgeable and helpful in meal planning and core/strength training.  He can tailor any of his workouts to fit anyone and, he does not push you to do more than you can.  He pushes me to do my best and his routines are different each day and vary from week to week.

Once I got into the groups and met my group members I loved the group atmosphere!  We all motivate each other, push each other, and support each other.  Now I could not imagine being in training without my group members as we all work together for a common goal.

Since starting training again I feel better physically, emotionally and mentally.  Working out helps me to clear my mind, unwind and focus on my own needs.  I am more flexible, I feel healthier as I eat healthier and work out regularly.  I feel stronger physically, my muscles are getting stronger and I can do more physically than I used to be able to.

Oh and the other thing Tyler has helped me with is to quit smoking.  He is a great motivator and dedicated to helping us all reach our individual goals!!!
